The Final Puzzle
After all this, there was still one more puzzle to go: The appropriately-titled "Final Puzzle." After finishing
with the Bonus Puzzle, teams were given a computer disk and a "cross-number" puzzle, with some numbers filled
in, depending on how many of the five ingredients they had correctly identified. The clues to the puzzle were
locked in the disk, until the disk's password was given out over Z107 FM radio.
Teams who had identified more ingredients had a head start on the puzzle since some of the numbers were already
filled in, but those teams with less numbers filled in were not totally out of the running. The first team to
solve the puzzle and follow the disk's instructions for calling the secret Hunt phone number was declared the
winner.
|
To win The Hunt, solve the following cross-number puzzle, then call the phone number ABC-DEFG, where:
|
|
A = the number of 9s in the puzzle minus the number of 8s in the puzzle
B = the number of 9s in the puzzle minus the number of 5s in the puzzle
C = the number of 4s in the puzzle minus the number of 8s in the puzzle
D = the number of 6s in the puzzle minus the number of 7s in the puzzle
E = the number of 8s in the puzzle minus the number of 7s in the puzzle
F = the number of 8s in the puzzle plus the number of 8s in the puzzle
G = the number of 4s in the puzzle minus the number of 3s in the puzzle
