Rebus Search

Instructions for Rebus Search

1. Find and circle the pictures from the mural in the Rebus Search grid. Rebuses appear horizontally and vertically, but not diagonally.

2. Insert the remaining unused pictures into the spaces at the bottom of the page, and solve the resulting new rebus.

3. Follow the instructions.

Rules for Rebuses

• Specific groups of letters can be added and subtracted to form new words.
  Example: pink - p = ink

• Specific sounds can also be added or subtracted to form new sounds.
  Example: rough - f + m = rum

• Letters may be subtracted from a step even if other letters and sound exist between them in that step.
  Example: go + roof + a + feet - rat = goofy
  (In this example, we subtract "rat" from "goroofafeet.")
  Note that the letters subtracted (in this case, "r," "a," and "t") must exist in that same orderin the step they are subtracted from, although other letters may exist between them.
